Integral Group is pleased to announce that three of our firm thought leaders will be featured speakers at LIGHTFAIR 2018 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. Please join Managing Principal, Sara Lappano, Associate Principal, Kera Lagios, and Associate, Ellie Niakan in the following sessions:

CLD Certification, Demystified | Tuesday, May 8, 2018 | 4:30pm – 6:00pm
Alfred Borden, The Lighting Practice
Ellie Niakan, Integral Group
Barbara Horton, HLB Lighting Design
Ardra Zinkon, Tec Studio

In 2010, an industry task force investigated the benefits of a globally-recognized lighting design certification. The result is the CLD Certification, the first evidence-based lighting design certification. CLD Certification requires real-world professional experience and a portfolio of work demonstrating competence in seven domains of practice. An international panel of Certified Lighting Designers will provide insight into the certification process and discuss the importance of CLD Certification to the profession of architectural lighting design.

Lighting the Way to Net-Zero Buildings | Wednesday, May 9, 2018 | 10:30am – 12:00pm

Sara Lappano, Integral Group
Kera Lagios, Integral Group

Net-zero energy buildings are a model for sustainable design, generating as much or more electricity as they consume. The speakers will focus on the unique aspects of lighting design in a net-zero building, starting with the earliest design decisions through the first year of the building’s operation, which is critical to achieving net-zero energy certification. Considerations for daylighting, electric lighting, and controls will all be discussed. Through the use of several case studies designed by the presenters, attendees will learn how they can play a critical role in the success of net-zero energy projects.
