California Polytechnic University, Pomona New Administration Building
The iconic Student Services building at CalPoly Pomona, designed by Albuquerque, New Mexico-based architect Antoine Predock, is a student favorite and has been featured in numerous films and television commercials. The University is replacing the existing building due to inefficiency and seismic concerns, as the existing building is located directly on the San Jose fault.
Working closely with the architectural team from the conceptual design phase, Integral Group has been instrumental in guiding the building orientation and implementation of a high-efficiency building envelope in order to optimize energy efficiency opportunities, maximize daylighting, reduce mechanical systems reliance, and optimizes thermal comfort. A large building overhang provided additional real estate for the green roof. Additional sustainable features include radiant heating and cooling and window shading to minimize heat gain from the sun.
Integral Group is currently providing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing design services as well as Sustainability consulting, energy modeling, and daylight modeling. The new building will house several departments, including Academic and Student Affairs, IT, University Advancement, Administrative Affairs, and the Office of the President.
