Norbury Manor College | Sixth Form + Enterprise Centre
This project involves designing and constructing a new 6th form and enterprise center on the grounds of the existing school. The Sixth Form Centre will accommodate 250 new posts in 16 places. The greater, two-story section of the building will provide accommodation for the sixth form, while the single-story section at the northern end will form an Enterprise Centre. The Enterprise Centre will provide much-needed housing to help the school in its essential contribution to the local LEGI provision and as a Business and Enterprise hub promoting the vision across the borough and enabling primary school students to access the business and enterprise provision at the school.
Elementa Consulting provided the project’s mechanical, electrical, energy, and public health engineering services. This project aims to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating in terms of sustainability. To achieve this, Elementa Consulting has undertaken BREEAM workshops and an assessment and produced energy option appraisals and dynamic thermal modeling to inform design decisions regards the most appropriate building materials, renewable technologies, ventilation strategies, and heating solutions for the scheme. When implemented, these measures will contribute to delivering very energy-efficient school facilities rated as Excellent within the BREEAM for Schools methodology.
