2017 International Radiance Workshop
Please join Lighting & Daylighting Specialist, Brianna Coston, at the 2017 International Radiance Workshop in Portland, OR. This event is a great opportunity for academics, consultants and anyone interested in lighting related subjects using Radiance software to gather, learn, and exchange ideas, and is hosted by the University of Oregon’s Energy Studies in Buildings Laboratory.
During the conference, Brianna will be presenting:
Optimizing the Radiance Workflow in an Integrated Engineering Firm Environment | Wednesday, August 23, 2017 – 11:25am
Working at a full-service MEP firm with lighting, sustainability and energy modeling services creates unique opportunities to integrate daylighting and Radiance with other disciplines on a day-to-day basis. This presentation will highlight some of the workflows and optimization processes Integral Group uses daily on projects.
By creating strategies though all steps of the simulation process, unified and coordinated decisions can be made. It starts with collaboration and coordination with the other teams including Energy Modeling and Electric Lighting, and continues by connecting DIVA and Radiance in the Unix environment to process large scale projects. Optimization of settings in the calculations and simulations allows more accurate and expedient results. Once runs have finished, a batch post-process created through scripting achieves more efficient results delivered to clients.
