Ali Nazari to Speak at Saskatchewan Association of Architects Conference
Each year, the Saskatchewan Association of Architects (SAA) hosts the SAA Conference and General Meeting for the knowledge sharing of architectural practice. This year’s SAA Conference 2019 follows the theme, “Saskatchewan Architecture: What’s Next?”. Topics surround the future of architecture as it relates to national building policy. Canada is currently lagging behind globally in the development of building policies aimed at increase public knowledge of the significance of the built environment. With its extreme climates, Indigenous heritage and low population, Saskatchewan can offer a unique take on the formation of new policies. The Conference will be held at the Double Tree Hilton in Regina, SK across May 2-4, 2019.
Senior Principal and Energy & Sustainability Director of Canada, Ali Nazari, will be speaking at the 2019 SAA Conference, both as a featured speaker and a panelist:
Demystifying the Black Box – Energy Modeling Processes and Best Practices
Friday, May 3, 2019 | 11:00am – 12:00pm
Considering the proposed national architecture/built environment policy, Saskatchewan ratified the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB 2017) as of January 1st, 2019. This presentation will provide insights on what adoption of this code means in practice. It will also help uncover common communication barriers within teams and facilitate the understanding of how energy modelling can be used at different stages of design. This empowers all stakeholders to work together in a truly integrated fashion, making data-driven design decisions from the start that meet the sustainability target of projects within budget.
