Measurable Performance: How the BC Energy Step Code Will Change the Way You Design, Build, and Use Buildings

The Energy Step Code is changing the way we understand energy efficiency in buildings. Introduced in the BC Building Code in April 2017 as a voluntary standard, this outcome based code is a sign of where codes and standards are headed in the future. Under the standard, every building will need an energy model and air-tightness test. This panel will address topics such as:

• What these changes mean for buildings
• How to take advantage of this flexible standard, and
• What you can do to prepare project teams to succeed under the new code
