Canada Green Building Council Accelerating to Zero Summit

Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) is hosting the Accelerating to Zero Summit in six cities across Canada throughout 2019, including Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax, Calgary and Winnipeg. The Summit will feature a number of events and educational seminars centred on the policies, technologies and initiatives required to achieve zero carbon buildings, and ultimately help Canada meet its aggressive carbon footprint goals. Innovative Solutions for Zero Carbon Buildings

This two-part presentation examines innovative solutions for zero carbon buildings, focusing on the Canadian context but drawing from examples across the world. The session will present an overview of the need for market transformation in our buildings sector and identify the key programs, policy tools and incentives that will play a role. We will discuss the efforts that have been taken at provincial/state and municipal scales to support the building industry achieve zero carbon, as well as the impact voluntary standards are having. In the second half of the presentation, we will explore a selection of specific building projects that showcase innovative and cost-effective low-carbon solutions from across the world.
