Green Homes Summit 2018
The CaGBC Green Home Summit is a one-day, regionally-focused event hosted at Red Deer College in Red Dear, Alberta.
This year’s Summit will focus on residential construction, covering both single-family homes and multifamily projects up. The Summit will include sessions on LEED® Canada for Homes, and many regional energy and green building standards.
Sustainability Associate, Melanie Ross, will be speaking at this year’s Summit on Accessible and Affordable Housing.
In her session, Melanie will be addressing the need to incorporate sustainability and wellness for our most vulnerable populations. She will introduce key LEED and WELL best practices that are easily incorporated in to residential buildings, from single-family homes to large multi-family buildings. Melanie will also challenge the market perception in regards to cost and effort to include these ‘extras’ (sustainability, accessibility, wellness, durability, etc.) when it should be part of the base design.
