Audain Art Museum Receives AIBC Award

Vancouver, BC: The Audain Art Museum, was recently honored at the 2017 AIBC Architectural Awards with the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Award in Architecture Medal. Intended to recognize excellence and achievement, the medal distinguishes the development as a pillar of architectural and engineering performance. Integral Group provided mechanical, electrical, energy modeling and sustainability consulting services to the 56,000 sq ft private museum, which was designed by Patkau Architects Inc.

Located in the heart of Whistler Village, the Class-A museum hosts Michael Audain’s personal art collection and serves as a prime example of applicable, innovative green engineering. AIBC explains how the “deliberately restrained form and character of the building provides a quiet, minimal backdrop to the art within and the surrounding natural landscape.” It includes a multitude of energy efficient features, including a four pipe fan coil, heat recovery, radiant heat, air source heat pumps, and a complex LV lighting control system. Integral Group is pleased to have worked with the accomplished Patkau Architects Inc. on this award-winning project.
