Chris Piché Elected to Building Commissioning Association Board of Directors
Chris Piché, Principal at Integral Group’s Toronto office, has been elected to the 2015 Building Commissioning Association (BCA) Board of Directors in the Eastern Canada Chapter. The mission of the BCA is to guide the building commissioning industry through advancing best practices and education, and promoting the benefits of building commissioning by providing education and training related to the commissioning process for its Canadian members and the building industry. Chris will serve on the board for a two year term beginning in January 2015.
As the Eastern Canada lead for performance engineering services at Integral Group, Chris works with a multitude of industry representatives, building owners, operators and manufacturers as part of the expansion of this service offering. His experience in the consulting field in designing and commissioning facilities is complemented with extensive experience in the academic sector in both teaching (Humber College) and guest lecturing (Ryerson University, ASHRAE local Chapter, University of Toronto, Humber College).
Chris explains enthusiastically, “I believe in an open platform with respect to knowledge transfer and information. One of the most challenging facets of commissioning we’ve observed over the last 10 years has been the varying degree of standardization which exists in the industry. As buildings become more advanced, the importance of properly developed commissioning activities has increased. In order to advance the industry in a concise manner, there needs to be a particular attention to detail with respect to the standards we publish, the education opportunities we offer, and the organizations which we associate with that can support our mandate”.
