Elk Grove Aquatic Center
Elk Grove has set aside more than 76 acres for a new Civic Center and Community Park. The first phase of development for this ambitious project includes an Aquatic Center. The Assistant City Manager has described this project phase as having a “campus feel,” with a large commons area between the buildings that will host community festivals and a local farmers’ market. The Aquatic Center will include a 50-meter pool, an instructional pool, and a dedicated recreational pool with a slide.
Integral Group provided the complex’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services. The Aquatic Center has an all-electric variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heating and cooling with airside energy recovery. VRF is cost-effective, low-maintenance, and provides a high level of user control. The hot water systems we designed for the building are also electric and use air-source heat pumps for reduced energy consumption.
