Lime Tree Primary School
This project comprised creating a new primary school and nursery in conjunction with a new health care center. The former Surbiton Hospital site has been used to create a two-form entry school called Lime Tree Primary plus a community health facility. A central facility shared by the two buildings acts as a community hub providing an information desk and access to facilities for the general public during certain hours.
Low carbon features include the development of achieving BREEAM Very Good backed by a large photovoltaic array and car charging points. At the same time, the school incorporates a rooftop planting area and an area of green roof, enhancing the teaching experience. The two buildings will also share a combined energy center to reduce carbon emissions, while the whole site is designed to encourage green travel in line with GLA directives.
This project was shortlisted for Best Accommodation at the 2013 Partnership Bulletin Awards.
