St. Michael’s Hospital

St. Michael’s Hospital provides outpatient services and specialist therapy units, including physiotherapy, podiatry, speech and language, elective surgery, and minor surgery facilities. Diagnostics include x-ray and endoscopy, urgent care incorporating a Rapid Assessment Unit, rehabilitation facilities, and in-patient accommodation.

Elementa Consulting’s work on this project included provision of all mechanical, electrical and above-ground-drainage design. Energy saving strategies included low energy lighting and maximisation of natural daylight; dynamic thermal modelling to utilise the form of the building; and a natural ventilation strategy that ensured the building complied with the NHS’s stringent internal environment policy.
