The Blairs
The Blairs is a residential complex built in the 1950s and 1960s in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. The Blairs was designed and developed to be one of the largest-ever LEED renovations of an existing property in the U.S. The 27-acre mixed-use community will be transformed into a vibrant, mixed-use community featuring new construction totaling 3,500,000 ft² with a maximum of 2,800 units and 450,000 ft² of commercial and office space. The existing surface parking lots will be renovated to feature residences, townhouses and apartment towers. Approximately 4.11 acres of open urban parks, new restaurants, retail shops, grocery store, a hotel, office building, and numerous other amenities.
Integral Group was selected as the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineer for the Master plan development to work alongside architect Bing Tom from Vancouver. Integral Group’s experience with high-density, sustainable, mixed-use projects in Seattle, Vancouver, and Toronto was an essential factor in being selected for the project. The Blairs will offer a sustainable lifestyle for Montgomery County’s growing population.
