Cherry Gardens SEN School

Cherry Gardens SEN School is a new build, two-form entry school. This site uses existing school grounds to combine this with a single-form entry primary school. Elementa Consulting undertook the feasibility study for the development of the school and took into account the complexities of the multiple entry points and the need to provide a secure drop-off and pick-up point while maintaining the open feel of the site.

The school used shared resource space where possible to ensure the maximum use of space while not compromising either school’s requirements. The concept design considered the increased service needs for the building, including pool requirements, specialist lighting features/controls, and ventilation strategies. The requirements of BB102 were fully integrated into the design to ensure that the pupils’ experience was at the front of the project.
